Super-fast and free WIFI, available free of charge. We really wanted it to be easily accessible: without an access code or log in. We fully understand that the modern guest no longer needs to log in with a room number and password. We also really detest a forced social media login. At The Duke Boutique Hotel, you can use our High Speed WIFI everywhere - without any compulsory login. Great, quick and easy!
Parking is possible in one of the two nearby, public parking garages:
Parking garage de Wolvenhoek is located within a short walking distance from the hotel. The route crosses the Korte Putstraat, so you can already tale a look at all of the restaurants’ menus. Parking Sint Jan is a newly built parking garage with large parking spaces - and it’s also very close to the hotel. The route runs through the beautiful Casino Garden, across the Parade square and past St. John's Cathedral, after which you can find The Duke Boutique Hotel.
Gym & Yoga
On the same floor as The Living Room, you will find the City Gym. Our guests can use the state-of-the-art fitness equipment – free of charge. The City Gym offers – among other things - the Milon Circle: a full body workout within 35 minutes. With the help of the 'Milonizer', the length and posture of the athlete is measured and you receive a personal pass that allows you to participate directly in the circuit. The devices automatically adjust to the body of the athlete.
In addition to the Milon Circle, there is also Technogym equipment present and you can join yoga classes for free. Stop by the Gym when you arrive and check it out – having a work-out during a hotel stay has never been so attractive!
The Duke Boutique Hotel is located in an old post office in 's-Hertogenbosch. In 1896, the post office and telegraph office opened its doors. The post had to be brought around by horse and cart, between the Kerkstraat and Central Station. In 1938, a new office opened close to the Central Station to improve the logistics - but still, there was a lack of space in the Kerkstraat. In the 1960s, the idea came to completely demolish the building and to purchase additional buildings in the Kerkstraat and the Korte Putstraat – so a larger new post office could be built.
This new post office opened in 1971, but people weren’t too happy about it. For years there were complaints about the appearance of this 'grey' building and the amount of traffic at this central location in the city. After the post company left the building, the building was finally renovated in 2010. The old façade has partly been left standing and the new façade has been built a meter further to the front. This has led to the building having a friendlier and more modern look.
In our Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites and in the St. John suite you can still find beautiful old characteristics of the 1971 post office. We kept the old ceiling intact, as well as the concrete fronts.
