The story
Duke Boutique Hotel started with a simple idea: a hotel that feels like a friend in town has lent you their home. Someone who knows Den Bosch down to its smallest streets, knows where you should eat and looks beyond the city too. You can see it in the hotel: an eye for detail, quality where it matters and a team that’s happy to point you in the right direction.

Reception
Check-in is from 3 PM. Early check-in is available for a surcharge. Check-out is until 11 AM, so there’s plenty of time for a relaxed breakfast. Want to stay a little longer? You can book a late check-out for a surcharge.
Our team is here every day from 7 AM to 10 PM. At night, you can reach us by phone, and there’s a night porter nearby.
History
Duke Boutique Hotel is in a former post office. In 1896, Den Bosch’s post and telegraph office opened here. Mail went by horse and cart between the Kerkstraat and the station. In 1938, a new office opened near the station, but space in the Kerkstraat stayed tight. In the 1960s, the decision was made to demolish the building and buy up properties on the Kerkstraat and Korte Putstraat for a bigger post office.
The new post office opened in 1971 and was never really loved. For years, locals complained about the grey building and the traffic in this central spot. After the post office moved out, the building was renovated in 2010. Part of the old facade stayed, and the new facade was built a metre further forward, giving the building a friendlier, more modern face.
In our Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites and the St. John Suite, you can still see traces of the 1971 post office: we deliberately kept the old ceiling and the concrete facades.
Surroundings
Step outside and you’re right in the middle of Den Bosch. St John’s Cathedral is around the corner and the restaurants of the Korte Putstraat are right below the hotel. Our team of locals will happily tell you where to go: for coffee, a shopping route, a good dinner or something cultural.
Den Bosch is a centuries-old fortified city, built around its cathedral. Ask us about the current exhibitions at Het Noordbrabants Museum , or explore the surroundings by bike.
Coming by car? Wolvenhoek car park is closest to the hotel. St. Jan car park is newer and has more spacious bays. From the St. Jan, you walk to the hotel via the Casinotuin and the Parade. A lovely first taste of Den Bosch.
